The Fundación Telefónica Space occupies four floors of what was the first skyscraper in Europe, built between 1924 and 1929, in the heart of Madrid’s Gran Vía. With an open and multidisciplinary approach, this cultural and knowledge space fosters reflection and debate on the tendencies associated with the digitalisation of all aspects of life, from a solid humanist point of view.
Its 6,000 m2, divided into four floors, through exhibitions, discussion forums, workshops and publications, generates meeting spaces where ideas can be shared, where people can learn, reflect, be inspired and experience the value of technology at the service of people and its potential for a positive impact on society.

Coinciding with the celebration of the centenary of Telefónica, the 2nd Floor of the Fundación Telefónica Space hosts this permanent exhibition which explores the impact and acceleration of telecommunications in all areas of our life under three concepts: Speak, Live and Imagine. Since the appearance of the first telephones in the 19th century until the dawn of the Internet, the mobile phone or artificial intelligence, it addresses the change in the social paradigm as a result of the arrival of each new technology and the human stories around them.
Throughout the route, visitors will come across eighty objects from Telefónica’s Technological Historical Heritage, made up of 10,000 pieces, audiovisuals, interactive installations, as well as infographs and documentary material, which will make them reflect on how our way of communicating has changed and how this has affected all areas of our life.
