On the second Sunday of each month, the Paseo de Valdelasfuentes in Alcobendas holds the Producers Market, where 45 food growers from the Community of Madrid gather. The market prioritises local produce that is of high quality, home-grown and ecological; directly from the grower to the consumer.
It is a market that recovers traditional flavours and offers the best vegetables, meat from the sierra, cheeses, extra virgin olive oil, olives, honey, home-made bread with sourdough, craft beers, wines, vermouth... and much more. …
On market days, there is also live music for the elderly and animation for children and some of the market products can be tasted whilst having a Zarro vermouth on tap or a craft beer, such as La Chula or Peninsula.
It is an event that contributes to the development of the region’s rural areas, helping small farmers and local growers to promote and sell their products. At the same time, it raises awareness amongst visitors of the importance of the consumption of local produce for the environment.
